Slow American English is written, performed and produced by me, Karren Doll Tolliver.
I was born in Indiana, USA. I have a BA in English and a CELTA qualification for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). I’ve been teaching ESL since 2005 in Europe and online. I currently live with my husband in Colorado.
During the course of my teaching, I realized students could benefit from a slowly-spoken audio English podcast, but none were available. So I set about creating Slow American English.
I also write a weekly food and travel blog called A Travel for Taste. I’ve published several cookbooks and photography books related to that blog.
In addition, I have compiled the exercises and transcripts from Slow American English into workbook form, both print and digital. You can buy the workbook and download the regular-speed recordings for a small fee. You can find information about all my books on my Amazon author page.
Listeners can subscribe to this podcast free via iTunes.
Music on the Slow American English website is written and performed by SW Campbell. Opening theme song is “Junie Says”; closing song is “Beans and Dirty Rice”. Download this and other music by SW Campbell on his Soundclick page.
